AYA Trauma Innovation Center at Lenegewa
AYA Innovation Trauma Based Algorithm
At the AYA Innovation Center, we are pioneering a trauma-based algorithm, Generative AI technology, and an AI-enabled case management platform to create data-driven clinical decision support tools. Our mission is to improve mental health outcomes for vulnerable populations, starting with a pilot program in Ethiopia that will later scale to other African nations facing similar challenges.
Lenegewa Women's Rehab Center
The Lenegewa Women’s Center will primarily serve women involved in prostitution (WIP), who experience high levels of abuse and trauma, leading to complex mental health challenges. Despite the high need, there is limited research and guidance on trauma-informed care for this group. Our collaboration is developing a comprehensive trauma-informed care model addressing both pre-existing and ongoing trauma endured during prostitution. With the expertise of our physician health coaches and psychiatrists leading mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation services, clinicians will have the tools needed to provide personalized, evidence-based care.
Key Aspects of the Collaboration:
Pilot Program in Ethiopia: Developing trauma-based AI algorithms and case management tools for tailored mental health care.
Trauma-Informed Care Model: Addressing trauma experienced before and during prostitution.
AI-Enabled Case Management: Streamlining services and enabling personalized care through a data-driven platform.
Scalable Solutions: Expanding the model to other African countries with similar challenges.
AI-Driven Decision Support: Empowering clinicians with data to offer precise, personalized treatment plans.
This initiative will transform mental health and rehabilitation services for underserved women, providing scalable, long-term solutions that improve trauma-informed care across Africa.
